WHY YOU NEED A BURNOUT RECOVERY COACH

Let’s talk about why you need a Burnout Recovery Coach in your life!


If you are Burning Out right now, it’s likely you don’t know where the heck to start when it comes to your Recovery. When we’re Burned Out we’re overwhelmed, exhausted, and everything just feels like too much effort. 

A Burnout Recovery Coach is someone who has been where you are right now, and come out the other side. Often they’ve worked with a coach themselves to get to where they are right now!

A Burnout Recovery Coach is someone who’s read all the books, listened to all the podcasts, attended all the trainings and tried all the things - so they can give you the key headlines until you’re in a place to absorb that stuff yourself.

A Burnout Recovery Coach is someone who will LISTEN to you, who won’t judge you for the way you’re feeling or for how you got where you are, and will encourage you to feel what you feel and then help you work out what comes next.


So how do you know you’re Burnt Out in the first place?

The thing is, only you know if you’re Burning Out. And you can only start to Recover from Burnout once you accept that’s what’s happening.

There are plenty of questionnaires and assessments out there to tell you if you’re Burned Out or not, but in my experience, it’s about accepting what you know deep down is true.

When we’re Burned Out, we’re exhausted, we feel lost and hopeless, we’re overwhelmed and frankly we’re fucking up all over the place because our brains aren’t working properly. We’re chronically stressed, often experiencing anxiety and bouts of depression as a result, and we can’t see a way out.

When you Burn Out, you lose your passion and your connection to who you are. The thing that used to make you bounce out of bed in the morning now fills you with dread. You don’t know where the real you ends and your stress begins. In fact, you can’t find yourself in there at all. It’s just stress, and panic and fear the whole time. You might mask it with something - maybe alcohol or food, or extreme exercise, or other obsessions - but it’s always there.  

Even if you can sleep, you don’t rest. You wake up exhausted. You can’t sleep this off, or shake this off. You don’t know what to do next, and you don’t have the energy to figure it out on your own.

THAT is Burnout.


Burnout Recovery is different to Burnout Prevention. As a Coach, I work with clients on both. There’s no point focussing on how to prevent Burnout, when you’re already Burned Out. You’ve got to figure out how to heal first - how to rest and reset your nervous system, start putting the pieces of yourself back together. And then you can think about how to avoid it happening again! And your Coach can help you with that too.

  • I am a former frazzled exec turned Burnout Survivor, and as part of my experience with Burnout I completely reset my own life. I call it my Supernova Moment - the moment my old life exploded and this new, little star flickered into existence and began to shine.

  • I used to be 1000% married to my job, I had no life outside of my career and I really didn’t like the person I used to force myself to be. Now, I’m working every day on continuing to build my relationship with myself and enjoying the person I actually am.

  • Though I massively value joy and happiness, and I focus on living with balance, I don’t pretend that life after Burnout is 100% happy all the time. A balanced life has ups and downs, and I have learned that there is magic to be found in the middle.

  • I’m not a therapist or a doctor, what I do comes from my own lived experiences and my knowledge of Mindfulness, Yoga (particularly Yin Yoga) and Meditation, as well as my skills and expertise as a coach. I am not going to analyse you, or unpick your trauma, or diagnose you with anything. I might suggest you explore speaking to professionals who CAN do those things, if that’s what you need, and I’ll help you to do that!

  • I am ALL ABOUT unleashing the amazing, totally unique and totally worthy INNER YOU. And if you don’t believe me when I tell you that the Inner You is amazing, totally unique and totally worthy, then I want to work with you even more.

  • I have a very small dog who likes to make an appearance on our calls. This is generally a pro but depending on what mood he’s in it can occasionally be a con.

  • I teach all my clients about the values of Mindfulness Skills, Journaling, Meditation and Yoga and encourage them to find the practice that works for them. All my clients get access to my live classes, along with specially recorded classes just for them and their Burnout Recovery journey.
